Love potions do not work. No drink, herb, ingredient, or recipe can cause somebody to fall in love, create attraction, or change consent. These drinks are purely for fun and have no romantic or medical effect.
Never add ingredients to someone else’s drink without their knowledge. Ask about allergies, dietary needs, and preferences first.
1. The Raspberry Blush
Ingredients for two: 1 cup raspberries (fresh or thawed), 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon simple syrup or honey, 1 cup chilled sparkling water, and ice.
Gently mash the raspberries with lemon and syrup. Strain if desired. Divide between two ice-filled glasses, top with sparkling water, and garnish with a lemon slice. Add water or a little more syrup to taste.
2. The Pomegranate Spark
Ingredients for two: 1/2 cup unsweetened pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 cup chilled ginger ale or ginger beer, 1 teaspoon lime juice, and ice.
Stir the juices together, pour over ice, then add the fizzy mixer at the end. Garnish with an orange wedge. Use caffeine-free, alcohol-free ginger beer if that suits your preferences.
3. The Rose-Colored Fizz
Ingredients for two: 1 cup hibiscus tea, cooled, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1–2 teaspoons sugar syrup, 1 cup sparkling water, and ice.
Brew hibiscus tea according to the package, allow it to cool fully, then combine with lemon and syrup. Divide into two glasses and top with sparkling water. A few strawberries make a pretty garnish. Skip hibiscus if it does not fit your health needs; plain berry tea also works.
Make it a little celebration
Choose two different glasses, make a tiny menu card, and let each person rename their drink. You can also prepare a zero-sugar option by omitting syrup and choosing an unsweetened mixer.
For a low-pressure finishing touch, pair the drinks with a conversation game. The best ingredient is being present, not anything in the glass.
